I attended my Medical Doctor today for my annual physical and I was curious about what he thought about the use of Nutritional supplements for general health. I had a feeling of what he might say and I was correct. My Doctor stated that the entire industry is a multi-billion dollar scam, supplements are not FDA approved and you are flushing your money down the toilet because they do nothing.
Although I agree, there are a lot of useless supplement products in stores. I also believe there are excellent products around if you take your time to do your research.
According to a article in True Health and Nutrition
Most medical schools fail in nutritional instruction. Doctors tend to underestimate the importance of nutrition in general. No wonder: most doctors receive a mere few hours’ nutritional training in med school, and lack adequate time to keep up on the latest research. Their practice is based on disease screening, not prevention, with an emphasis on drug therapies, not nutrition. Such doctors naturally think that nutritional supplements have little therapeutic value. This is changing, especially among recent medical school graduates. Even oncologists at leading cancer institutes are advocating vitamin supplements for their patients. But it will take years before nutrition is a part of most doctors’ methods.

Yes, this is the problem with the medical sector. What the doctor forgot to mention is the medical/Pharmaceutical companie are a multi million billion dollar business! Hopefully one day legislation is passed where these medics actually require a nutrition degree. Interesting how a doctor with only six hours of nutrition class-room time is able to give a educated opinion on suppliments.Food for thought.
I am glad the FDA doesn’t regulate supplements-lol. With my gymnastics background…I want the BEST…& take Olympic Committee Certified goods.😉 I use AdvoCare…& am in ❤️ with their elite line!!! It’s Olympic Committee Certified BECAUSE OF Informed-Choice. IC is a quality assurance & monitoring program that certifies that a supplement product and/or raw material that bears the Informed-Choice logo has been ‘skip-lot’ tested (tested at least on a monthly basis) for banned substances by LGC’s world-class sports anti-doping lab. I trust what they do…& don’t have to worry about what I’m putting in my body. I know it’s top quality.💕
